Apprentices:
Total Forklift Service is seeking to employ first year apprentices to assist with
our workshop and field service operations. Experience desirable but not essential,
however you must be in good general health and able to demonstrate good mechanical
ability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Must enrol in an appropriate course conducted by a recognised training organisation and maintain good results in that course. Must possess and maintain a valid Australian driver’s license, or if under age, be eligable for and prepared to obtain and maintain a current Australian driver’s licence at the minimum legal age.
Qualifications:
Must have good general health. Must possess good communication skills for a service
team environment. Successful applicants will ideally be experienced with heavy plant
or materials handling equipment and be able to provide good attendance records and
good results from a current TAFE course or equivalent. Applicants not enrolled with
a registered training organisation require good results in English & Mathematics
and have a good customer service culture. Must be able to demonstrate good mechanical
ability.

Trades:
Total Forklift Service is seeking to employ customer-
Experience with battery electric forklifts and electrical vehicles is highly desirable. We offer good wages and working conditions, commensurate with experience, and provide the opportunity to work with a dynamic and successful team whilst utilising your skills on a diverse range of equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Repair and maintain the operating condition of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including forklifts and pallet jacks ranging from 1 to 45 tonne capacity. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on MHE equipment. Dismantle and reassemble equipment to OEM specifications and Australian Standards, using various mechanical, hand and pneumatic tools. Examine equipment and parts for defect, damage and wear using calibrated measuring tools. Repair and replace electric, diesel, propane or petrol MHE and components such as air systems, cooling systems, starting and charging systems. Repair vehicle chassis, electrical systems, drive trains, brake systems, and hydraulic systems. Repair and rebuild broken parts and structural members using welding and other fabrication techniques. Operate and inspect machines and equipment to diagnose component defects and perform repairs. Identify and research replacement parts for order.
Qualifications:
Four years experience as material handling equipment (MHE), forklift or heavy equipment mechanic in commercial or governmental repair work. Must have full knowledge of and the ability to troubleshoot and repair electric, diesel, propane or petrol powered MHE engines, associated power trains, air and hydraulic brake systems, and all other component parts. Must have a working knowledge of and ability to diagnose MHE electrical and computer controlled systems. Must have and maintain hand tools of the trade to perform the normal work of the classification. Must possess and maintain a valid Australian driver’s license. Must have good general health. Must possess good communication skills for a service team environment.
